Praseodymium Rod & Wire

High Quality Praseodymium Rod & Wire Supplier

Praseodymium Rod and Wire are forms of rare-earth metal known for their excellent magnetic response, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength. With a bright silver surface and uniform structure, they are ideal for use in magnetic materials, specialty alloys, and optical components.

At AEM REE, we produce praseodymium rods and wires through vacuum melting and precision forming to ensure uniform quality and reliable performance. The rod form offers strong dimensional stability for machining or alloying applications, while the wire form provides flexibility for fine electronic or research use. Both rod and wire types can be made to your exact size and tolerance requirements to support specialized projects and experiments.

Unique Properties of Praseodymium Rod & Wire

Praseodymium Rod and Wire offer a unique mix of strength, magnetic activity, and corrosion resistance. These properties make them reliable materials for research, precision parts, and advanced manufacturing.

1. Strong Magnetic Response

Praseodymium reacts easily to magnetic fields, which makes it an excellent material for producing magnetic alloys and testing magnetic performance in research applications.

2. Corrosion Resistance

Praseodymium naturally forms a thin oxide film that protects it from further oxidation. This property helps maintain stability and extends product life during handling and use.

3. Good Mechanical Workability

The metal is soft and ductile, allowing easy machining, shaping, and forming into customized parts or fine wires for laboratory and electronic use.

4. Optical and Alloying Versatility

Because of its unique optical absorption and chemical behavior, praseodymium is also used in specialty glass, optical coatings, and as an additive to strengthen magnesium and rare-earth alloys.

Manufacturing Process of Praseodymium Rods & Wires

High-purity praseodymium metal is refined using vacuum induction melting (VIM) or electron beam melting (EBM) to remove impurities and ensure uniform chemical composition. Each batch is tested using GDMS, ICP-MS, and ONH analysis to verify purity and trace element control before processing.

Praseodymium ingots are hot-forged and rolled into solid rods with uniform grain structure and high density. For wire production, the rods are drawn through multiple precision dies to achieve the required diameter and dimensional accuracy.

Rods are heat-treated to relieve internal stress and stabilize the microstructure. During wire manufacturing, intermediate annealing restores ductility and ensures consistent strength and flexibility across the full length.

The surface of each rod and wire is polished and cleaned to achieve a bright, smooth, and oxide-free finish. Optional fine grinding or precision machining is applied when tighter dimensional tolerances are required.

All products undergo strict quality inspection for surface condition, dimensions, and mechanical integrity. Ultrasonic cleaning removes oil, particles, and residues, ensuring readiness for vacuum, optical, or alloying applications.

All finished products are vacuum-sealed in moisture-proof packaging and placed in shock-resistant cartons. Each shipment includes a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and complete documentation for traceability and quality assurance.
